Occupational Therapy assists patients to regain their self-care independence in areas
such as bathing, toileting, and home management. Occupational therapists use their
understanding of growth and development, performance skills, and the social, emotional,
and physiological impact of illness or injury to assist patients in overcoming the
obstacles that limit thier ability to do the things that they need and want to do.
